Woke Up This Morning Feeling Like…Luis!
I keep looking back at my graduation speech wondering how and when I picked myself back up. See, that is the wonderful thing about life, you get a chance to pick yourself up every day. When you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, just know that you can only go up from that point. Things do happen for a reason, whether we understand them or not…and maybe we will never understand. That doesn’t mean you give up living. It simply means that you keep fighting to press forward and dedicate your time and energy to those things which are within your control. Don’t make haste decisions in the name of love because nothing is guaranteed. Instead stay true to yourself and your dreams.
I can no longer tell whether I am chasing MY dreams or a dream we once had by moving to CA. What I do know is that there is only one way to find out, and no matter the outcome I am prepared to grow from this experience. Your reasoning for doing things may not always be the most logical but in the end the outcome may be very well worth the journey. Look at me, I ran to be the president of our student union for all the wrong reason, yet as I listen to my speech I can hear the growth and wisdom that came from it. So here’s to next steps, wherever they may lead us!
